The Latest Amazon Kindle Scribe Is Now $75 Off
Kindle readers may be the best pen readers on the market (they’re the most common, of course), but when it comes to note readers, the situation isn’t necessarily the same: competitors like Onyx Boox offer e-ink tablets , which are much more feature-rich and customizable.
However, they do cost a pretty penny: the Onyx Boox Note Air 3 C costs around $450. On the other hand, Amazon’s newest Kindle Scribe is currently available for $324.99 (originally $399.99), which is the lowest price reached since its recent release, according to price trackers .
Kindle Scribe first released in 2022; this first version currently costs $339.99 (yes, thanks to the current discount, the new version is cheaper than the old one). But honestly, if you already have the 2022 version, there’s no point in upgrading. The main difference is that the 2024 version comes with a Premium Pen stylus instead of the Basic Pen stylus. The tablet itself is shorter, narrower and thinner, but not by much (you can even use the same case). The new screen also has a texture that improves writing resistance, and the gap between the screen and the outer casing is smaller. But that’s where the differences end, at least according to PCMag’s 3.5-star review .
Otherwise, you get the same 16GB of internal storage, the same book-size compatibility, the same 15.3-ounce weight, the same glare-free 300 ppi front-lit screen, and the same 12-week battery life. Both tablets use the same software. However, if you don’t have Scribe at all and are thinking about purchasing one, the newer version is a better option, especially if it costs less.
However, if you are more focused on writing and other tasks rather than reading, the Onyx Boox Note Air 3 C is a much better option. It has a color E Ink display, improved note-taking software, and broader platform support. I’ve had the colorless version for a few months now and can recommend it to anyone looking for a serious digital laptop.
