This Free Bubble Calendar Makes Tracking My Workouts so Fun
New Year’s is a great time for nerds like me. Whether you’re a lover of the joy of a new workout log, the fresh promise of a program you’ll check out one day at a time, or even (admit it) a kid who really loved filling in bubbles with the number two. in pencil, you’ll love this bubble calendar that a generous Redditor posts every year.
Here’s the 2025 version , available in two sizes, with the week starting on Sunday or Monday, depending on your preference. The user who posts this every year is u/Propelissa , so check out his profile next January when you complete this one.
Two sizes: 8.5″ x 11″ is best for printing on a standard US letter size printer and 8″ x 10″ is best for sending as a “photo” to any photo printing service.
How to use a bubble calendar
Honestly, it’s just a piece of paper with circles on it, so you can use it however you like. But it was inspired by this poster , apparently released by Saucony and Fleet Feet in 2019, which encouraged you to fill one of the bubbles every time you went for a run.
If you’re printing an 8″ x 10″ version from a photo service, you’ll probably want to use a Sharpie to fill in the bubbles. But if you have access to a regular paper printer, you’ll get the grade-school fun of being able to fill in bubbles with a beautiful Ticonderoga pencil.
Last year I decided to use a bubble calendar to track my cardio. (I find it easier to do strength training than cardio.) If I biked, ran, or did any other targeted cardio workout, I filled a daily bubble. If I went for a walk, I would draw an X in a bubble to give myself some credit. By the beginning of the year, most of my cardio workouts were cycling workouts in strength zones ; in summer and autumn it was usually jogging.
How you use the calendar is up to you. You can record any type of workout. You can use different colors for different types and lengths of workouts. Or you can use a calendar to track how often you brush your teeth, eat vegetables, or go to bed on time. Come on, it’s all yours.
