You Can Spend Your FSA Using Your Amazon Account

Your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds expire tomorrow (or shortly thereafter if you have a rollover period – check with your employer). This means it’s time to scan your first aid kit, make a list of everything you need to stock up on, and click “Add to Cart.”

An FSA store is an obvious choice to make the most of your remaining funds , but you can also turn to your retail giants. Amazon, Target, Walgreens and others offer a dedicated FSA/HSA store to help you quickly find eligible items.

How to Buy FSA Eligible Items on Amazon

Here’s how you can take advantage of FSA-eligible Amazon items before the end of the year.

1. Visit the Amazon FSA store at amazon.com/fsa .

2. Look for the “FSA/HSA Eligible” label in product listings.

3. Use the FSA/HSA filter in your search results.

4. Pay with your FSA debit card at checkout.

Likewise, Target has an FSA filter in its healthcare section, and pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens have dedicated online FSA stores.

What to buy with your remaining FSA funds

Many over-the-counter drugs and medical supplies are eligible for FSA, including cold medicine, bandages, dental care, menstrual products and more. You can also grab:

  • First aid supplies (bandages, antibiotic ointment)

  • Over-the-counter medications

  • Contact lenses and solutions

  • Reading glasses

  • sunscreen

  • Painkillers

  • Blood pressure monitors

  • tests for COVID-19

Again, most FSA plans require you to spend the funds by December 31, although some offer grace periods. Please check with your plan administrator for specific deadlines. Just be sure to keep receipts for all FSA purchases in case you need to confirm eligibility with your plan administrator after payment.
