These Games Will Be Coming Out of PS Plus Next Month

Game subscriptions make a lot of sense: instead of spending $60 or $70 on one game, you spend a certain amount per month or year to get access to a huge list of games. However, nothing lasts forever, including subscription service offerings, and Sony’s PS Plus is no exception. If you’re not up to date, you may miss the opportunity to play certain games before they leave the service.

What’s more, Sony doesn’t make it abundantly clear that it’s going away—unless you look for it. It so happens that True Trophies scoured the PlayStation Store for games due out in January. The publication has discovered that 11 games are slated to release next month, giving you until January 14 to play eight of them and only until January 6 to play the remaining three.

This list is not necessarily set in stone, and new games may be added over time. Also, True Trophies pulls data from a PSN account located in the EU, so for those of us in other regions there may be some discrepancies: I’ve corrected the three PS Plus Essential games below to reflect when they head North . American users. However, the list itself should remain unchanged. Here’s what’s coming out next month, including specific dates:

  • It Takes Two (PS4/PS5, PS Plus Essential): January 7

  • Temtem (PS5, PS Plus Essential): January 7th.

  • Aliens Dark Descent (PS4/PS5, PS Plus Essential): January 7

  • Resident Evil 2 (PS4/PS5, PS Plus Extra): January 14.

  • Dragon Ball FighterZ (PS4/PS5, PS Plus Extra): January 14.

  • Life is Strange (PS5/PS5, PS Plus Extra): January 14.

  • Life is Strange: Before the Storm (PS4, PS Plus Extra): January 14.

  • Just Cause 3 (PS4, PS Plus Extra): January 14.

  • Just Cause 4 (PS4, PS Plus Extra): January 14.

  • Hardspace Shipbreaker (PS4/PS5, PS Plus Extra): January 14.

  • Pure Hold’em (PS4, PS Plus Extra): January 14.

  • Legend of Mana (PS4, PS Plus Premium): January 14.

  • Secret of Mana (PS4, PS Plus Premium): January 14.

  • Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (PS4, PS Plus Premium): January 14

While the PS Plus Extra and Premium games will disappear forever once they’re released, you’ll still be able to play the three Essential games if you claim them before the deadline. For those of us in North America, it will be January 7th at 12:00 pm ET. According to True Trophies, for the EU this is January 6th.
