All the Samsung Galaxy S25 Rumors We Know so Far (Including a Possible Launch Date)
It’s been almost a year since the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, which means it’s almost time for the Galaxy S25 series to spill the beans – and there have been plenty of leaks and rumors about what to expect. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but you’ll find all those speculations compiled and cross-referenced here.
It looks like we’ll be getting four models next year: the usual trio of the standard Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra, and then the added bonus of a new Galaxy S25 “Slim” model that aims for a thinner form factor (and may , or may not ultimately replace the Galaxy S24 FE ).
Samsung Galaxy S25: launch date and prices
Considering the Galaxy S24 phones were released on January 17, 2024, it’s safe to say we’ll see a Galaxy S25 replacement in about a year. Most well-placed sources, including South Korea’s Financial News , predict that the Unpacked event will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, with a possible on-sale date of February 7.
There is some debate about whether the Galaxy S25 Slim will arrive at the same time as the other three models or release later in the year: perhaps we’ll get a January teaser before the full launch a few months later. Some analysts have indicated that this phone will release in the second quarter of 2025 (April, May or June).

A promotional poster for Galaxy Unpacked January 2025 has been leaked online , mentioning the date January 22nd. It looks like we’re seeing corners of four different phones there, lending credence to the idea that the Slim model will be unveiled at the event, even if it doesn’t go on sale right away.
As for pricing, most leaks at the moment predict some kind of increase in starting prices for Galaxy S24 models (which started at $799 for the base model). This is due to the cost of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, but there may be differences in different countries.
Samsung Galaxy S25: four different models
The Galaxy S25 series will start with the standard S25 model: although it will have a faster Snapdragon chip on the inside, little on the outside appears to change . The same 6.2-inch screen is expected and there may also be some changes in the camera lens design. Talking about cameras, multiple sources report that the Galaxy S25 will match the Galaxy S24 with a 50MP + 10MP + 12MP triple rear camera setup with 3x optical zoom.
It’s much the same story with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus – there will be no upgrades over the Galaxy S24 Plus, except for a faster processor inside and a potential increase in RAM to 12 GB . The general consensus is that the screen size will remain the same at 6.7 inches and the rear camera will be S25 standard. We have also seen some hands-on images of this phone leaked.

Apparently, there have been some changes with the Galaxy 25 Ultra. It’s rumored to have more rounded corners , tiny bezels, and an upgraded ultra-wide-angle camera that’s part of a triple lens on the back ( from 12 MP to 50 MP ). The screen size will remain the same at 6.8 inches, but we could see a 16GB RAM option as well as an upgrade to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
As for the new Galaxy S25 Slim, based on leaks to date, we’re looking at a phone that could be thinner than the rest , with a high-quality camera on the back that’s superior to the standard Galaxy S25 . It’s unclear what else this phone will have, but the processor inside it should be the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Samsung Galaxy S25: Other Specifications and Features
It doesn’t look like the Galaxy S25 phones will be radically different from their Galaxy S24 counterparts in many areas: the rather slow charging speeds will apparently remain the same again , and the battery capacity won’t be increased either (though internal optimizations may result in longer battery life) .
There have been rumors about the colors coming to the new phones, and it’s mostly what we’ve seen before, plus some potential new additions. Blue, white and gray colors predominate, although it’s unclear what exactly the differences will be from the Galaxy S24 series until we see them (for example, it could be the same color but with a new name).

It’s highly likely that the final version of One UI 7.0 (Samsung’s version of Android 15 ) will be released alongside the Galaxy 25 phones. The software is currently in beta and, unsurprisingly, includes a host of new AI features (including call transcription), as well as some changes in interface design.
All in all, we already have a good idea of what’s to come from Samsung with the Galaxy S25 series, although of course nothing is confirmed until it actually happens. While there aren’t any major updates in the works, there do appear to be a few well-chosen changes, as well as a possible fourth model.
