YouTube Music Is Already Releasing a Wrapped Version of Spotify
Spotify may have pioneered the annual streaming recap, but these days every other service has its own version of “Wrapped.” For example, if you’re a YouTube Music subscriber, not only do you have the ability to see an end-of-year summary of your listening habits, but those stats are now available to select users.
While you might think December is the best time to take stock of the past year’s music activities, YouTube wants some of us to take a trip back in time right now. This isn’t too strange for YouTube in particular, since its music streaming service offers seasonal highlights throughout the year. However, as Mashable highlights , this feature is not yet available to all users, so don’t be discouraged if you have to wait a little longer to get the summary.
If it works on your end, here’s what you can expect . You’ll see standard stats like your top tracks, artists, and podcasts, as well as the listening time of each. But you’ll also see more abstract results. YouTube Music will tell you what your “listening sentiments” were this year, including genres like “Electronic Music” and sentiments like “Hypeated” or “Pumped.” You’ll also see your “musical personality,” which reveals the “personality” of the types of music you’ve listened to this year, as well as your “musical moods,” which can include everything from “Dramatic” to “Dancy.” “
How to Access Your YouTube Music Resume
As this feature is actively being rolled out, you may open the YouTube Music app on your iPhone or Android and see a “2024 Recap is here” warning above the new Speed Dial section. If you don’t see the alert, you can try searching for your resume yourself. Tap your profile, then select Your Resume . From here, you can click “Get Resume” to receive your resume. You can also try going directly to yt.be/music/recap and see if that gets YouTube Music to show you your resume.
