These Sony Wireless Headphones Are Now Under $40

If you tend to wear headphones for long periods of time, the Sony WH-CH520 wireless in-ear headphones are considered quite comfortable due to their soft ear pads, padded headband, and light weight. Available in black, white, and blue, they’re currently on sale for $38 (down from $59.99), making them a solid budget option, especially if you’re looking for basic wireless headphones with long battery life.

The WH-CH520 can be connected to two devices at the same time, but you’ll have to pause one of them before you can play from the other. In terms of sound, they’re balanced out of the box, but if you want to tweak the sound, the Sony Headphones Connect app lets you customize the EQ settings and boost the bass to your liking. Please note that they lack active noise cancellation (ANC), and the over-ear design is unable to block out external noise. This might be a plus if you like to keep an eye on your surroundings, but not so much if you’re in a noisy environment.

On the other hand, the WH-CH520 has a battery life of up to 50 hours on a full charge, and a quick three-minute charge gives you 90 minutes of playtime (according to the manufacturer) – perfect for those “Oops, I forgot to charge” moments . The built-in microphone is also very convenient, allowing you to make calls and use voice assistants like Siri or Google Assistant hands-free. However, since the WH-CH520 uses Bluetooth exclusively for connectivity, there is no wired listening option.

An alternative is the JBL Tune 520BT , another inexpensive option at $39.95 (down from $49.95) with similar features. Or, if you want something with passive noise cancellation, the Jabra Evolve2 65 is more expensive at $178.97 compared to $301, but it may be worth it for better isolation.
