“It’s time to get into winter holiday planning mode, especially if you’re buying gifts for the kids , and that also means you need to know when you need to send mail and packages to ensure they arrive on time.
Unlike last year, when December 24th fell on a Sunday, pushing the deadlines forward, you have a day or two before the Christmas holiday to receive packages in the mail, depending on the service you use – albeit waiting for the Expedited Delivery itself last minute will definitely cost you money. It’s better to mark these dates on your calendar now and send gifts in advance.
Here are the holiday delivery times for USPS, UPS and FedEx in 2024.

USPS Holiday Delivery Dates 2024 (for arrivals before December 25th)

Submit by December 18th with the Ground Advantage package (December 16th for Hawaii and Alaska).

Dispatched by December 18th via First Class Mail.

Shipping by December 19th via Priority Mail Service.

Ships by December 21st via Priority Mail Express Service (December 20th for Hawaii and Alaska).
Local post offices will be closed on December 25th and no mail will be collected or delivered. Please check with your nearest branch for any other changes to holiday hours.

UPS stores will open Dec. 24 and the service will deliver as usual, but curbside pickup will only be offered on pre-arranged Air and International Air packages. Any next day pickups will be delivered on December 26th. UPS locations may be closed on December 25th and pickup or delivery services will not be available. Contact your local store for updated hours.
FedEx 2024 Holiday Delivery Dates (if arriving before December 24th)

Ships by December 23rd with FedEx First Overnight, Priority Overnight and Standard Overnight.

FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery services are available through December 23 at varying rates depending on the number of days required for delivery.
FedEx offices may open on December 24 for limited hours and some delivery services will also be available. FedEx closes on December 25th.
