Best Fitness Equipment Deals for October Prime Day
October’s Prime Day is a great time to fill some gaps in your home gym or pick up a few nice items for your gym bag. Here are some of the best October Prime Day deals I found on fitness equipment, including great deals on adjustable dumbbells, treadmills, and more. Plus: some really neat duffel bags!
Best October Prime Day Deals on Powerblock Adjustable Dumbbells.
Powerblocks are pricey but a favorite dumbbell for anyone who needs a small gym but is short on space. And good news: There are at least seven different models on sale at deep discounts for Prime Day in October:
-
The Powerblock Elite EXP set from five to 50 pounds (“Stage 1”) usually costs $449 per pair, but today the price has dropped to $299.99. (Its expansion kits are also sold today.)
-
The smaller Sport 24 kit, ranging from three to 24 pounds, is also on sale for $159.99, down from $239.
-
Even the Powerblock 100s (yes, they weigh up to 100 pounds), normally priced at $549 each, are now up to $439 each.
Best Prime Day Deals on Heart Rate Monitors
Even if you have a smartwatch, the most accurate way to track your heart rate is with a chest strap that measures the electrical activity of your heart. (The watch uses a green light to detect your heart rate, which works fine most of the time, but is prone to errors, especially if you’re moving around.) The Polar H10 is a great sternum strap and is $76.46 today, down from $99.95. And for a budget option , this Coospo monitor (the same one I have) is only $23 today.
If you don’t like the chest strap format, Polar Verity Sense is a heart rate monitor with a wrist strap that can also be worn at your temple, attached to your goggles while swimming. It’s an optical sensor, like a watch, but armbands tend to read your heartbeat better than a watch. Today it’s $84.96, normally $99.95.
October’s Best Prime Day Deals on Rowing Machines
Unfortunately, the Concept2 (universally recognized as the best rowing machine for dangling) is not for sale today. But there is a Merach Q1SW . This is a budget rowing machine that our Daniel Oropeza rated as fairly reliable for average athletes , but it’s unlikely to be a great choice if you’re very tall or serious about rowing. It normally costs $329.99, but is available today for $259.99.
Also available is the YOSUDA water rower, with steampunk-inspired wooden surfaces and resistance provided by real water. Normally $499.99, today it’s $269.99 after applying $100 coupon.
October’s best Prime Day deals on duffel bags and water bottle holders.
Everyone needs a good gym bag. My all-time favorite Adidas Defender small is not on sale today, but its big sister, the Adidas Defender medium, is only $26.51 (regularly $45).
This year, in addition to duffel bags, I’m also looking at water bottle holders. They’re essentially mini gym bags so you can carry your water bottle, phone, and other small items around the gym floor. Some are even magnetic so you can attach them to a squat rack or machine during your workout.
October’s Best Prime Day Deals on Treadmills
Today’s October Prime Day treadmill deals include several NordicTrack T Series machines that are solid entry-level choices. (Unfortunately, the commercial series is not currently for sale.) There are also sales on some walking mats, although Amazon’s search results are full of no-name brands with bogus offers (hint: $169 off the $1,999.99 list price is quite not bad). much will always be the item that cost $169 all along).
Below I have selected all the products that are actually on sale – I have checked the price history.
October’s Best Prime Day Deals on Peloton Bikes and Equipment
I included the Peloton Tread in the list of treadmills above, but don’t miss the other Peloton equipment they sell, including the iconic Bike, Bike+, and square dumbbells. The bike sells for a good price at $1,228.24, and the Bike+ price drops below the 2K mark on one of the rare occasions at $1,999.99.
When it comes to the features of Peloton dumbbells, any old dumbbell will do the same job (while being heavy), so don’t feel like you need these specific dumbbells for Peloton strength training. But if you already have several pairs of square glasses, now is the time to buy more to complete your set. (While we’re at it, shoes, water bottles, and mats are also on sale—check out Amazon’s deals page for this gear here .)
October’s best Prime Day deals on cool adjustable dumbbells.
As I scoured product listings for the best deals and healthiest looking dumbbells, some of these fancier dumbbells kept catching my eye. Most are lighter than the dumbbells described above and only have a few adjustment options, so they won’t be as useful for as many people.
That said, while most of your strength training should probably use heavy weights (no matter how “heavy” you are) , there are also plenty of uses for lighter dumbbells . These lighter styles are great for beginners, and if you’re excited about a new workout routine, why not buy a pair that looks cool?
Below are a few adjustable dumbbell sets that look sleek, adapt to different weights, and are on sale today. They are all sold in pairs, but sometimes the weight is stated as the total weight of the set (so “40 pounds” could mean two 20-pound dumbbells).
