Prime Day October 10th Deals That Are Really Worth Checking Out

If it seems like Amazon Prime Day is happening earlier and earlier every year, well, you’re not wrong: starting in 2023, the company has made Prime Day a biannual event. The big sales still happen in July, but October’s Prime Day (which Amazon officially calls “Prime Big Deal Days,” but the company appears to be alone) is a close second.

And it’s here – the sale runs from October 8th to 9th and includes discounted items across hundreds of product categories. As always, the best Prime Day deal is saving money and not buying anything you haven’t already planned on . But if you’re looking for a new device or gadget, this could be a great time to buy, as long as you can tell the difference between good deals and no-brainers .

With that in mind, here are some of the best Prime Day deals in October, recommended by the Lifehacker staff. (And check back here throughout the day, as I’ll be updating this post as suggestions come in.)

The best Mac laptop for most people at $250 off.

For the past few years, Lifehacker tech editor Jake Peterson has been adamant that the best Apple laptop for most people is not a high-end model, but an “entry-level” machine powered by one of the company’s M-series chips. . Last year, the M1 MacBook Air 202 was a steal at $750, and right now you can get the successor model, the M2 MacBook Air, for the same price.

MacBook Pro M3 $300 off

But what if you’re not “most people”? What if you really want a more powerful Mac laptop with more RAM, a more powerful processor, more storage, and more outputs? Well, now is the time to buy the more expensive M3 MacBook Pro, which is currently $300 off its $1,600 list price.

Basic iPad at a killer price

Even though it released in 2021 and still has a physical Home button and older screen technology, the ninth-generation iPad is still a pretty great device, especially if you’re looking for something that’s not too expensive for kids could play with him. Right now, this model is approaching a “ridiculously cheap” price of $199, down from $329. (If you want something fancier, there are more suggestions for where this came from.)

AirPods Pro at record low price

Apple updated its basic AirPods earlier this year, and while the AirPods 4 are great headphones, they’re not currently on sale and lack many of the features of the more expensive AirPods Pro. The 2nd Gen Pro is currently $80 off, which is near its lowest price ever, so you might want to opt for a more polished option with all the best features (including USB-C charging).

Apple Watch for less than $170

The Apple Watch now competes with the iPhone and iPad with a huge number of models on the market, and choosing the best one for you can be challenging. But if you like a combination of great features and a reasonable price, I recommend choosing the 2nd generation Apple Watch SE from 2022, which is currently $170 (down from a list price of $250). Yes, it’s a couple years old now, but it still does everything most people want from an Apple Watch, from tracking your health to syncing all the notifications from your phone. I just bought one for my middle school aged daughter because I’m a big sucker.

Big QLED TV at a ridiculously low price

Giant widescreen TVs used to be a luxury item, but if Prime Day has taught us anything, it’s that a screen big enough to take up an entire wall of your home is within your reach—and you don’t have to settle for no ” – name the brand. While there are many good (and big) TVs on sale , I’ve been eyeing this 58-inch QLED model from Hisense, which is currently almost 40% off.

PlayStation 5 that doesn’t cost $700

Last month, Sony received mixed reviews for the announcement of the PlayStation 5 Pro , a minor update to its flagship console with a significant price increase, with some models costing more than $700. If that’s too much for your blood, but you still want to get on the tail end of this console generation, now is the time to get the regular old PlayStation 5 Slim. Right now, the disc version is $50 off and costs just under $450.

Our reviewer’s pick: A great robot vacuum and mop combo.

There are plenty of robot vacuums out there, all promising to revolutionize the way you clean your home (or don’t, while the machine does the work for you). Lifehacker has tested a lot of these babies over the years, and our reviewer Amanda Blume’s top pick among the models on sale on Prime Day is the Roborock S8 Max Ultra, which is currently $500 off. According to Amanda, the Roborock line “remains the best, handling carpet and hard floors with equal aplomb.”

(If over $1,000 is too much for you, the slightly less powerful S8 Pro Ultra is $200 cheaper, and at 44% off it’s even more discounted.)

Reliable entry-level robot vacuum cleaner with over 50% discount.

If you don’t want anything too fancy, now is the time to buy a “starter” robot vacuum cleaner. Great bet, again from Roborock: the Q8 Max vacuum and mop combo. Priced at $280, it’s currently more than 50% off the $600 list price and has many of the features of more expensive models, such as app integration, 3D mapping, and simultaneous mopping and vacuuming.
