You Can Now Update to the Official Version of IOS 18

iOS 18 is here. After three months of beta testing, Apple’s latest update is now available for all compatible iPhones. Here’s how to get it up and running on your device.

What’s new in iOS 18?

iOS 18 won’t change your iPhone dramatically, but it will add some interesting and useful features. With this update, Apple is giving users a ton of options to customize the Home screen : you can customize the hue of app icons and place those icons anywhere you want, giving Android users a more comfortable experience on iOS.

Speaking of Android, iOS 18 also introduces RCS support for the first time . This change brings iMessage-like features to green bubble text messages between iPhone and Android devices: group chats will no longer be interrupted, and videos will no longer look completely pixelated. However, chats will still be green.

Control Center is also getting an overhaul : Like the Home screen, you can customize Control Center to include any features you need and remove those you don’t. There’s even a power button for the first time, so you can turn off your iPhone right from Control Center.

Which iPhones are compatible with iOS 18?

Apple has released many iPhones over the years, and many of them are too old to run iOS 18. However, the list of compatible devices may be longer than you think. Every iPhone running iOS 17 can also update to iOS 18. This means the following 28 iPhones are also supported this time:

How to Download iOS 18 on Your iPhone

Now that iOS 18 is out, you can install it like any other software update. To do this, open Settings on your iPhone, then go to General > Software Update . From here , your iPhone should be running iOS 17.7 , the latest version of iOS 17. However, at the bottom of the screen, you should see an option to Update to iOS 18 . Click on it, then select Update Now to start downloading the update.
