My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: Hisense 65-Inch U8 Class
It’s as surprising as it is questionable when a new top-rated TV has plummeted in price within six months of its release, but I’m not complaining here. The Hisense 65U8N offers great value for a 65-inch TV and is considered an “outstanding” TV by PCMag. The price is now down to $999.99 (originally $1,499.99), which is $50 off the lowest price it’s ever been, according to Price Checker Tools .
What makes the Hisense 65U8N a great TV is how good it is for the price. It excels in brightness, contrast and colors at a price that is considered the most expensive among “budget TVs” due to its size and panel type. Its specs also make it a great TV for gamers and sports viewing, thanks to a native 144Hz refresh rate with VRR and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, as well as 7.4ms input lag in Game Mode.
One of the advantages of this TV over OLED (besides the lower price) is brightness. This TV can reach 2,755 nits (about three times more than most OLEDs), making it one of the brightest TVs available right now. The contrast ratio is good at 393,571:1, but it doesn’t reach the black levels that OLED can achieve. However, this 65-inch screen has 1600 local dimming zones, making the picture quality look supreme.
Since this is a Google Smart TV (my favorite smart TV operating system), you get hands-free Google Assistant, as well as support for Apple AirPlay and Google Cast. So, you can cast your phone or Chrome tab from your laptop to your TV very easily, and if you have an iPhone or iPad, you can do the same using AirPlay 2.
