My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: Google Pixel 8 Pro (With Free Pixel Watch)
This is a great time to buy a new Android phone, unless you hate getting free stuff: Amazon is currently offering the Google Pixel 8 Pro for $624 , which is $375 off the $999 retail price. According to price checker tools , this is the lowest price the device has reached, and it doesn’t even take into account the big freebie with purchase: To sweeten the deal, Amazon is adding an LTE Google Pixel Watch to your Pixel phone—costing $249. This is a great deal because both of these devices, although they are last year’s models, still have a lot to offer.
If you take advantage of the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch offer, you’ll be limited to a phone with 128GB of internal storage. You can read more about this in PCMag’s “excellent” review .
If you need more storage, the standard Pixel 8 is available in 128GB and 256GB models along with a free Pixel Watch with Wi-Fi; these deals start at $499 , which is also a lot (Google Pixel Watch is already 2 years old, but it’s free and still a great fitness watch ). The Pixel 8 Pro is no longer the latest Pixel, as Google introduced the new Pixel 9 lineup in August. However, the Pixel 8 Pro is still a great phone in 2024, with support for plenty of AI features that keep the phone looking fresh even a year after its release. Google has also been working hard to patch vulnerabilities in its Pixel phones back to the Pixel 6, meaning the Pixel 8 Pro will be supported by software updates for some time (up to seven years ). Google also continues to release new Pixel features every few months, including ” Audio Magic Eraser ,” which eliminates distracting sounds in videos, and a “Best Take” feature that lets you select the best frame from a series of photos.
