My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: Sonos Era 100
The Sonos Era 100 is an improved version of the Sonos One smart speaker with much stronger bass and other improvements. The smart speaker is currently down to its lowest price of $199 (originally $249) after a $50 discount, the lowest price for this speaker, according to Price Checker Tools .
The Sonos Era 100 came out in early 2023 and received an “excellent” review from PCMag for its ability to reproduce stereo from a single device (it has dual tweeters), balanced sound, and a well-designed Sonos companion app that allows you to tweak the EQ capabilities Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, Alexa and Sonos voice control, and music playback capabilities from most major music streaming services.
What makes the Sonos Era 100 great (or most Sonos speakers, for that matter) is its ability to easily pair with other Sonos speakers you have. Sonos makes it very easy to pair multiple rooms without having to reconnect to Wi-Fi, and the Sonos app is fast and user-friendly.
When the speaker was released in 2023, support for the music services it supported was limited: only Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer and Pandora, with Spotify notably missing. However, Spotify and other music services are now available. Its voice assistant is still limited, with no Google Assistant or Google Cast. The speaker also doesn’t support Dolby Atmos, which is disappointing for a speaker of this price. Since it’s still a single speaker, the stereo and bass aren’t amazing, but they’re still better than previous Sonos speakers.
If you’re looking for a standalone smart speaker that has great sound and potentially connects to other Sonos speakers you might purchase in the future, the Sonos Era 100 is a great choice.
