The JBL Soundbar Is Now 51% Off

Featuring dual detachable surround speakers, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X 3D audio , the JBL Bar 9.1 promises to deliver audio so immersive you’ll forget you’re sitting at home. Plus, the removable speakers’ built-in batteries mean you can place them anywhere in the room without tripping over extra wires or worrying about outlets. JBL claims you can get around 10 hours of playback from these speakers, but your mileage may vary depending on how loud you like the sound. To recharge, simply attach them to the soundbar.

The soundbar also features a 10-inch wireless subwoofer that delivers serious bass—imagine deep, powerful room-filling sound. PC Mag’s review describes bass at Level 5 as delivering an intense, theatrical rumble, while at Levels 1 or 2 it’s more muted but still retains a rich, full sound. Plus, with 820W of power, the system delivers superb sound clarity. In terms of connectivity, it is compatible with Dolby Vision and has built-in Wi-Fi, Chromecast and Bluetooth for fast and hassle-free pairing and high-quality streaming. For Apple device users, JBL Bar 9.1 also supports AirPlay2.

Getting this surround sound system up and running is surprisingly easy: just plug in the power cables for your soundbar and subwoofer, connect the HDMI cable to your TV, and you’re good to go. Otherwise, the package includes fasteners, screws, batteries and a remote control along with the user manual.

While the JBL Bar 9.1 offers good audio quality , some reviewers noted that it doesn’t quite match the intuitive simplicity of other high-end competitors like the Sonos Arc , especially when it comes to audio calibration and balancing. If you’re someone who wants to press play and be done with it, you may find that JBL requires a little more patience.
