When Are the Next Olympic Games?

The triumph, heartbreak and baguettes of the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad culminated in spectacular Olympic fashion this weekend as the literal torch was passed to Los Angeles, the next Olympic host city. With Paris in the books of records and a cultural mirror, it’s time to look to the future and start planning for the next Olympic Games.

Next Olympic Games

The next Olympic Games will be held in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina in February 2026. The XXV Olympic Winter Games, also known as Milan Cortina 2026 , are scheduled to take place from 6 to 22 February 2026.

The next Summer Olympics will be held in Los Angeles from July 14 to July 30, 2028. Los Angeles previously hosted the games in 1984 and 1932.

Two 2028 Olympic events — softball and canoe slalom — will be held in Oklahoma City, 1,300 miles from the other games. Officially, it’s part of an effort to use only existing sports facilities in Los Angeles to keep costs down.

How to get tickets for the 2026 Winter Olympics

If you’re going to be in Italy in February 2026 and would like to see some of the Winter Olympics, you can sign up for the lottery ticket booking program now. However, it will be possible to buy tickets for the Winter Olympics only in February 2025. Registering for the drawing does not mean you are committed to buying tickets, so if there is even a chance that you will enter, it makes sense to write down your name.
