Habituator for IOS Is a Beautiful Habit App With Great Widgets
Forming new habits is difficult, but tracking your progress can help motivate you—that’s why there are so many habit-tracking apps out there. Habituator stands out for its clean yet playful design, integration with system features like Apple Fitness, and widgets that make it easy to track habits without opening the app.
The app from independent developer Alain Caltieri is free for three habits, no ads and with all features included. To acquire more habits, you’ll have to pay $9.99 per year or $19.99 for a lifetime purchase.
Getting started is very easy: just add a few habits. There are built-in templates for a variety of things: from drinking water to a regular walk. Fitness habits can be checked automatically using Apple Fitness data, while other habits can be checked manually in the app, on Apple Watch, or using any of the built-in widgets.
Offers greater flexibility. For example, if you only run on certain days of the week, you can set this. You can also set up to do certain habits several times a day or set up notifications to remind you to follow through.
You can also view stats for any of your habits—the overview shows a calendar summary, your longest streak, and the days of the week you’re most likely to do. All this gives the formation of a new habit a sense of play.
For some, this will all seem like overkill, and for those people, I recommend a golden, old-fashioned paper calendar where you can mark X’s for certain habits. However, if you live and die by your phone, I recommend Habitulator. The free version is more than generous enough to give you an idea of the app. If you find that this approach works for you, then $20 won’t be a waste. If not, then you haven’t lost anything.
