How to Reset Your Apple Watch After Too Many Passcode Attempts

So you’ve locked your Apple Watch. You may have forgotten your password and entered it too many times. Perhaps you had no idea that your watch screen was on and you typed the wrong password over and over again. Be that as it may, the result is the same: an alarming message: “Too many password attempts; restart your Apple Watch and pair again.”

This is all good, except for one major problem: how to reset your Apple Watch? If you’ve never encountered this problem before, it might be confusing. Apple doesn’t offer any help on the watch itself, as the reset warning doesn’t include instructions on how to actually reboot the device. You can’t access your watch settings because they are locked; No matter how many times you try to press just two of the device’s buttons, you’ll probably never see the reset option on its own. I know because I tried.

So what do you do when faced with such a technology glitch? Take Google, of course. In fact, starting the reset process is not difficult, but it is almost impossible to figure out unless someone tells you how to do it.

How to reset Apple Watch without password

These steps will allow you to reset your watch if you’ve entered your passcode incorrectly too many times, forgotten your passcode, or don’t have access to your iPhone.

  1. Place your Apple Watch on the charger. This is very important: the following steps will not work unless your watch is charging.

  2. Press and hold the Side button (longer button) until the Medical ID and/or Emergency Call option appears.

  3. Tap and hold the Digital Crown. After a couple of seconds, you will see a Reset option.

  4. Select Reset , then select Reset again to confirm your choice.

Your watch will begin to erase all content and settings. Once completed, you can set it up like new.
