My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: Amazon Kindle Scribe

When it comes to note-taking e-books, there aren’t many serious and reputable competitors. The Kindle Scribe isn’t the first of its kind (the first was the Onyx Boox Note Air , released in 2020), but it remains one of the most recognizable names in its category. And right now, the 16GB Kindle Scribe is on sale for the best price at $239.99 (originally $339.99) after a $100 rebate. According to price checker tools , this is the lowest price for this device.

Amazon Kindle Scribe is great for those who love the Kindle Paperwhite but want the ability to take handwritten notes. As our Joshua Hawkins said in his review for Lifehacker, Kindle Scribe is one of the best e-readers available right now. It has the same features as the Paperwhite, but can take notes with the included stylus, has auto-adjusting backlighting, and supports wireless charging. The screen is large (10.2 inches) and, according to PCMag’s “excellent” review , it’s awkward to use with one hand. However, unlike the Paperwhite, it is not waterproof.

Although it supports note-taking, don’t confuse Kindle Scribe with an electronic sketchbook. It can definitely be a great drawing device, but it lacks many of the tools and features found on a device like the iPad . It features long battery life and simple functionality. The large matte screen is ideal for reading comics or manga. You can read files in DOC, EPUB, HTML, MOBI, PDF, RTF and TXT text formats, as well as BMP, GIF, JPG and PNG image formats. When taking notes, there is no delay between the stylus and the screen, making note-taking a breeze.
