You’ll Soon Be Able to Create AI Videos With Google’s New VideoFX Tool

At Google I/O, the company made several artificial intelligence announcements, including a new experimental tool called VideoFX . With VideoFX, users can create high-quality videos just by typing a prompt, and it’s powered by a new artificial intelligence model that Google calls Veo.

What is Google Veo?

To make the new VideoFX tool work, the Google DeepMind team developed a new artificial intelligence model called Veo. The AI model was specifically built with video generation in mind and has a deep understanding of natural language and visual semantics, meaning you can feed it hints like “Filmed by drone along the Hawaiian jungle coastline, sunny day” or “Alpacas in knitted wool sweaters.” , graffiti background, sunglasses.”

The Veo model is clearly Google’s answer to OpenAI’s Sora AI video generator. Although both Veo and Sora can create realistic videos using artificial intelligence, Sora’s videos had a limit of 60 seconds. Meanwhile, Google says Veo can create 1080p videos that can be longer than a minute, although Google doesn’t specify how much longer.

What is VideoFX?

Essentially, the new VideoFX tool takes the power of the new Veo AI model and turns it into an easy-to-use video editing tool. You can record your clues and they will be turned into a video clip. The tool will also have a storyboard mode that you can use to create different shots, add music, and export the final video.

Google’s VideoFX tool is currently being tested in private preview in the US. The company has not said when the VideoFX tool will become generally available after this preview.

How to register with VideoFX?

Those interested in trying out the new Veo-powered VideoFX tools can join the waitlist: go to http://labs.google/trustedtester and submit your information. Google will review all submissions as they are received.
