This IPhone Tool Makes It Easy to Mute Unknown Callers, Search for Saved Passwords, and More
Your iPhone has more features than you’ll probably ever use, but that’s where the problem comes in – the overcrowded Settings app. With every new feature added, toggles are added or moved in the settings. Every time I need to access a rarely used setting, I end up scrolling through multiple pages, even if I use the nifty search feature in my iPhone’s Settings app. If this frustrates you, try SCSettings . This shortcut makes it easy to access useful iPhone settings like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, shutdown and restart options, controls for muting unknown callers, and more.
Setting up SCSettings
Setting up this shortcut is quite simple. First, open the Apple Shortcuts app, which is your iPhone’s automation hub . Then download SCSettings from RoutineHub. This is a third party site that acts as a gallery of the best shortcuts. Click “Get Shortcut” and follow the onscreen instructions.
Once the shortcut is installed, open the Shortcuts app and switch to the Shortcuts tab. Touch and hold SCSettings , select Share , and then touch Add to Home Screen . This will make the shortcut act like an application. You can even drag it to the dock at the bottom of the screen for easier access.
Using SCSettings on your iPhone
Tap the SCSettings icon on your iPhone’s home screen to launch a shortcut, then select any option on the screen to toggle different settings. This is all the shortcut can do:
-
Toggle Wi-Fi : Turns off Wi-Fi completely. You can’t do this from Control Center, which simply turns off Wi-Fi without turning off the radio.
-
Toggle Bluetooth : Turns off the Bluetooth radio. As with Wi-Fi, you can’t do this through Control Center.
-
Mute Unknown Callers : Automatically mutes any calls from unknown numbers.
-
VPN Settings Menu : Allows you to access the following VPN settings: Switch VPN, Switch Connection on Demand, and VPN Settings.
-
Restart device : Prompts for confirmation and restarts the iPhone.

Once you get used to this shortcut, you will find yourself using it constantly. It has become the mainstay of my iPhone because my job requires me to experiment a lot with settings. As long as you place SCSettings prominently on your iPhone’s home screen, you’ll love it.
Sometimes a shortcut may ask you for permission to send some values. It’s secure, and they allow the shortcut to detect which option you’ve selected and redirect you to the appropriate settings page. The beauty of SCSettings is that it works with the options you already have on your iPhone and simply makes them easier to access.
