The Best Custom GPTs That Will Make ChatGPT Even More Useful
If you subscribe to the ChatGPT Plus package ($20 per month), you can use native GPTs— generative pre-trained transformers . These are chatbots that serve a specific purpose, be it vacation planning or scientific research, and there are tons of them to choose from.
Not all of them are of high quality, but some are really useful; I’ve selected our favorites below. To find them, simply click “Explore GPT” in the left navigation bar of ChatGPT on the web . Once you install a specific GPT, you can access it from the same navigation bar.
These GPTs have replaced plugins on the platform and offer more targeted features and functionality than a regular ChatGPT bot. Many of them also have additional knowledge that ChatGPT doesn’t have, and you can even try creating your own: in the GPT directory, click + Create in the top right corner.
Kayak
Travel portal Kayak has its own GPT ready to answer any questions you may have regarding a specific destination or how to get there. Ask when is the best time to visit a particular city, or the cost of a ticket to somewhere, or places you can get to on a certain budget. It’s great for getting inspiration from a trip or working out the finer details, and when I tested it in my home city of Manchester, UK, the answers it got were surprisingly accurate – it even told me correctly the price you’d get. Now I’m paying for beer.
Hot mods
Dall-E’s image generator (another OpenAI feature) is built right into ChatGPT, so you get tools for creating and manipulating images right out of the box, but Hot Mods is a little more specific: it takes images you already have and transforms them. into something else. Add new elements, change the lighting or atmosphere, change the background, turn photos into paintings and vice versa, and so on. Image transformations aren’t always accurate—that’s the nature of AI art —but you can have a lot of fun playing with it.

Want to know which wine is perfect for a certain dish, event or time of year? Of course you do, which is why a wine sommelier can be so helpful. Obviously you’ll also need a printer (unless you’re coloring digitally), but playing around with the designs and themes is a lot of fun – you can even upload your own images and convert them. in coloring book format. Some of the usual AI quirks occasionally creep into the images, but they’re mostly noticeable in terms of thick black lines and large spaces of white.

Wolfram Alpha is one of the best resources on the Internet, an outstanding collection of algorithms and knowledge, and Wolfram GPT also brings a lot of usefulness to ChatGPT. This bot is ideal for complex mathematical calculations and graphing, for converting between different units of measurement, and for asking questions about any knowledge humanity has collected so far. The breadth of capabilities here is impressive, and GPT can seamlessly pull data and images from Wolfram Alpha when needed.
