The Best Things for a More Organized Home
I’ve been on a mind-blowing mission to declutter my apartment for a while now, and in the process, I’ve learned all sorts of decluttering techniques and bought a few organizational tools that have really helped me. Here are my favorite options for each room.
My Favorite Bathroom Organizers
My absolute favorite bathroom organization tool is the over-the-toilet storage rack , which is perfect for small bathrooms with limited storage space. I use it for makeup (and would appreciate it if I didn’t get a lecture on how bad it actually is to store makeup in the bathroom), but it’s perfect for towels, hair tools, bath products, or anything else. What I really like is that there is enough space under the bottom shelf to allow you to access the back of the toilet for maintenance without having to move the entire unit to get there.
I also like adhesive shelves inside the tub, like this set of three wire baskets from Yasonic ($23.99), and shower curtains with mesh pockets, like this one from Mrs. Awesome ($17.50) because I have too many shampoos and body washes. .
My Favorite Kitchen Organization Tools
In the kitchen, I try to make the most of limited cabinet space. My favorite tool is the towel holder hanging above the cabinet door because, frankly, I have nowhere else to hang my dish towels. (Every towel hook I buy inevitably falls to the floor, even if I reinforce it with a few sticky strips.)
You have options inside the closet too. From an interior pot lid hanger that hangs over the door ($22.99) to shelving that pulls out and fits right under the sink ($25.98), your cabinets can hold a lot more than you think if you Think about your strategy a bit.
My Favorite Living Room Organization Tools
This category is a little deceiving because I’ve written about it before, but I’m obsessed with storage furniture . Without a doubt, my all-time favorite mirror is the Vlsrka Storage Mirror , which lights up inside and out and opens to reveal hooks and holders for earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets and more.
Plus, I love storage baskets, especially cute ones like this three-pack of pink and white wicker baskets from CubesLand ($30.99).
My Favorite Closet Organization Tools
I also wrote about this, but we need compact hangers . Overall, your best bet is a pack of these metal pieces from Sindax .
I’m also a big fan of keeping everything in closets and on shelves in a storage unit of some kind. These foldable fabric ones (six for $16.99) are my favorite because they keep everything organized even if the contents inside are anything but similar.
