This Amazon Smart Thermostat Sells for $25
Smart home devices can make life easier and more convenient (and may even save you some money on your utility bills). A smart thermostat is a great place to start if you’re new to the smart home world, as it’s easy to install and fairly affordable. Amazon’s smart thermostat is everything, plus it can connect to the Alexa app for voice control.
Woot is selling Amazon’s refurbished smart thermostats for $29.99 (originally $79.99) (and until midnight Friday, you can apply a $5 coupon with code “SMARTFIVE” at checkout). The sale runs until April 9 at 1:00 a.m. ET or until thermostats run out. Woot only ships to the 48 contiguous US states. If you have Amazon Prime, you get free shipping; otherwise shipping will cost $6. Keep in mind that the thermostat has been refurbished so it may show signs of wear, but it has been serviced and approved to function properly.
Installation is easy and you can do it yourself. All you need to do is perform a basic rewiring of your current thermostat. If you’re not sure what this entails, you can watch the video below. The Alexa app will also guide you through the installation process.
PCMag rates this thermostat as a “great” device for its price, Alexa ecosystem support, and ability to monitor and control your HVAC system, potentially saving you some money on your utility bills. Don’t expect all the fancy features you can get from other, more premium smart thermostats, such as motion detection, remote control, and support for other smart home systems. But at $24.99 it’s a good price.
