Google Wants You to Use Artificial Intelligence on Your Next Vacation

Google hopes you trust its AI-powered search enough to use it to plan your next vacation. According to a blog post published this week, Google Search Generative Experience (SGE) can now help you plan a destination itinerary for your next trip, including highlighting must-see spots, restaurants, and even an overview of possible flight and hotel options.

The new system is largely based on Google’s search answering system, which scours the Internet for different answers to your queries. Google claims that using SGE will provide you with all the information you need, including photos, reviews, and other information about the businesses you may visit. Of course, this doesn’t take into account the problems that SGE already faces, such as the fact that scam and malware sites appear in SGE results . Hopefully Google has fixed some of these issues, but be careful what links you click on.

Beyond SGE, Google also highlighted how Google Maps’ recommendation lists can help you better plan your vacation, including showcasing recommendation lists from sites you trust as well as locals who know all the best places. It’s not really AI-based, but it’s likely that we’ll see more AI features in Google Maps and other Google products in the future.

It’s no surprise that Google is introducing more artificial intelligence features into its various projects. The company has made great strides with the release of its Gemini AI chatbot, and it’s likely that we’ll even see these trip planning features coming to Maps at some point, although perhaps in a different way. However, it will likely be some time before you can fully trust the information these AI tools provide you.
