What’s New on Netflix in April 2024

Netflix’s April slate includes highly anticipated series, reality shows and dark documentaries. Ripley (April 4) is based on Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 novel The Talented Mr. Ripley (you may be familiar with the 1999 film of the same name). Now a black and white series starring Andrew Scott, Dakota Fanning and Johnny Flynn. Scott plays the title character, a New York City con artist, in this eight-episode psychological thriller.

Later this month, the sixth season of The Circle will premiere (April 17), where contestants compete to become the most influential people on social media.

April Fool’s Day marks the release of a new show from comedian-magician Justin Willman, whose series Magic for People has already been on Netflix for three seasons. The Magic Prank Show with Justin Willman (April 1) revolves around elaborate pranks played on unsuspecting subjects.

In the true crime genre, there’s What Jennifer Did (April 10), about the investigation into an apparently fatal home invasion in Ontario, Canada, in 2010, and Crime Scene Berlin: The Nightlife Killer (3 April), which appears in a series of murders at a party in Berlin in 2012.

Also in the documentary category are Our Living World (April 17), a new nature series narrated by Cate Blanchett, and Anti-Social Network: Memes Before Chaos (April 5), which looks at the rise and influence of the internet forum 4chan and it hits the screens. on Netflix after recently premiering at the SXSW Film Festival.

The April comedy lineup includes a new hour from Demetri Martin ( Demetri Deconstructed , April 2) and a third Netflix special from Neil Brennan ( Crazy Good , April 9), covering everything from cryptocurrencies to mental health, as well as specials from Jimmy Carr ( Natural Born Killer, April 16) and Fern Brady ( The Autistic Bikini Queen , April 22).
