I’m a Nanoleaf fan. Of course, you can use the 16 million color combinations that LEDs provide for all sorts of party-ready lighting patterns, but Nanoleaf also does very well with calming and subtle lighting patterns. Still, here’s what I’d take.

Nanoleaf 4D Screen Mirror + Light Strip Kit

Position the included camera above your TV and attach the light strip to the back of your TV; The result gives your TV an aura that even made me giggle with delight. When the TV is turned on, the backlight can mimic the colors of the TV, changing slightly. When the TV is turned off, you can turn on the lights with music or simply select one of the preloaded themes. More importantly, 4D can be the basis for all the other lights in the room, so they all adjust to the same color and range of motion and work in unison.

Hexagon and triangle wall panels

Nanoleaf Light Shapes attach to the wall and can expand indefinitely to create any shape you can imagine. They’re also touch sensitive, so you can customize the light theme with just the swipe of your finger.

Elements Hexagons Smarter Kit

If you prefer a different look than the matte white or black plastic molds, the wood finish on these pieces will provide a completely different look with the same functionality.

Canvas Smarter Kit

These square wall panels can be expanded into different shapes, but that’s not their main attraction. They are also touch sensitive, but can also be programmed so touch can trigger different actions. These are incredible tools for kids to work with.
