The Date for Google I/O 2024 Has Finally Been Set.
Google has finally announced the date for its biggest conference of the year – Google I/O 2024. The tech giant broke the news this week, revealing that Google I/O will begin on May 14, 2024.
I expect great things from Google during this year’s I/O presentation. This is usually when Google touts its latest advancements, and the last couple of years have focused on showcasing the company’s various artificial intelligence efforts, as well as promoting the highly acclaimed Pixel 8 Pro . This year, however, I hope the rumors come true and we learn more about Google’s next budget device, the Pixel 8a, which will hopefully open up the opportunity for more users to own a Pixel device capable of running Google’s latest hardware. I’m particularly intrigued by what Google will do with the 8a, especially after it was revealed that its latest AI features won’t even make it to the cheaper flagship Pixel 8 .
Google I/O is also the process where the company shares new features coming to its various apps, including Google Maps. Android 15, the next version of Google’s operating system for smartphones and tablets, is also likely to be unveiled. The OS is already in developer beta, meaning some of the update’s features are already known, but Google I/O usually releases full details, so it’s an exciting time for Android fans too.
As always, Google will be livestreaming the developer conference, so anyone who can’t attend in person will still be able to see all the new demos and announcements.
