The New MacBook Air M3 Is Already on Sale (Slightly)
It didn’t take long: on March 4 , Apple introduced an updated line of M3-based MacBook Air laptops. A little over a week later , the 15-inch MacBook Air with 8 GB of memory has already received its first discount. Amazon is currently selling the powerful machine for $1,234 (down from $1,299)—a $75 discount. Granted, it’s not exactly a sale, but the amount will cover sales tax in some places, and any discount on a new top-of-the-line MacBook is always welcome.
(If you don’t need to stay up to date, the old 15-inch MacBook Air M2 is currently $300 cheaper at Best Buy than it was a few weeks ago.)
The new MacBook Air M3 corrected one of the biggest complaints about the M2 SSD, ultimately making the M3 33% faster in write speeds and 82% faster in read speeds . The base 15-inch M3 model comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. You also get a regular backlit keyboard, a 1080p HD webcam and Touch ID, as well as dual-monitor support , which was previously a MacBook Pro-only feature.
The previous base M2 MacBook Air retails for $300 at Best Buy, currently $999 (originally $1,299). This is the lowest price Best Buy has sold the M2 for after reviewing price check tools . It has the same RAM and storage as the M3, but there are some key differences between the two machines .
