Apple Watch SE Is Now Just $189
The second generation Apple Watch SE was released in fall 2022 as a big update to the budget version of the Apple Watch , considered the best Apple Watch for most people. You can now get the Apple Watch SE with 40mm GPS receiver in an aluminum case and a sport loop band for $189 (originally $249), which is the lowest sale price I’ve seen on Amazon after checking price comparison tools. The larger 44mm version of the GPS+ Cellular is also discounted, currently $268.32 (originally $329). For reference, the GPS+Cellular version was $269.99 on Cyber Monday .
Your Apple Watch SE options:
-
Apple Watch SE (GPS) 40mm ($189 off)
-
Apple Watch SE (Cellular + GPS), 44mm (discounted $268.32)
The cellular version allows you to leave your phone at home while you run, so you can answer calls or text messages without being near your iPhone. The GPS version can do the same thing as long as you use the same Wi-Fi connection.
In case you’re wondering, the Apple Watch SE doesn’t have the Blood Oxygen feature , which Apple recently banned from selling . However, you can still get one of these while you can and keep this feature for the life of the watch.
As tech writer Pranay Parab said when this Apple Watch SE was released, it’s the best Apple Watch choice for most people because it’s cheaper and you still get many of the most important features in it. The SE has the same processor as the Series 8, has crash detection, and has excellent battery life—up to 37 hours, as PCMag noted in its “excellent” review . You won’t have the dust resistance or always-on display that many have been asking for in the new models, but you will get a WR50 rating, which means it’s waterproof to 164 feet and safe for swimming in the pool or ocean.
Apple is still updating the first-generation Apple Watch to the latest version of WatchOS, so you can still enjoy the latest features that even high-end Apple Watch models have.
