CES 2024: AMD Unveils New Processors Designed for Extreme Gaming
CES 2024 continues with plenty of new announcements and product debuts that are generating excitement. Not wanting to be left out of the excitement, AMD has unveiled several new PC hardware, including new desktop processors and GPUs.
Perhaps one of AMD’s most exciting announcements is the upcoming release of next-generation desktop processors, which the company says are designed for “extreme PC gaming and creator productivity.”
AMD says its desktop processors are optimized for efficiency and low power consumption without sacrificing performance or responsiveness. This new series includes the Ryzen 7 8700G processor with eight cores, 16 threads, 24MB cache and integrated Radeon 780M graphics. The mid-range Ryzen 5 8600G will offer six cores, 12 threads, 22MB of cache, and integrated Radeon 760M graphics. Both processors come with AMD AI software to help optimize workloads.
AMD also introduced the new AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT series of graphics cards, which will offer high-quality 1080P gaming for just under $350. This card is equipped with 16GB of high-speed GDDR6 memory and will use AMD’s artificial intelligence software to deliver exceptional frames and performance, the company claims.
The Radeon RX 7600 XT will include 32 computer units, 64 AI accelerators, 16 GB of memory and a gaming clock speed of 2.46 GHz with the ability to boost the clock speed up to 2.76 GHz. The card will be available from leading AMD partners such as Acer, ASRock, ASUS and XFX for a suggested price of US$329.
Each of these new hardware only helps expand AMD’s offerings, which continue to push Nvidia and Intel to provide better, more affordable options for PC users around the world.
