Here’s When You’ll Be Able to Pre-Order Apple Vision Pro
Apple’s foray into virtual/augmented reality is about to collide with reality as the much-hyped Vision Pro will finally be released in the US on February 2, the company announced this morning. Pre-orders start this Friday for those of you who have been waiting to shell out a ton of money on the first-gen device as soon as possible. The headset is priced at $3,499 and runs on its proprietary VisionOS operating system. It allows you to use your eyes, hands and voice to navigate the user interface, and it will be interesting to see if the reality lives up to Apple’s slick marketing.
While the most obvious analogue is virtual reality devices like the Meta Quest 3 , Apple offers more augmented reality capabilities since many elements of the Vision Pro software will be displayed against the background of your real room (or virtual background, depending on your preference). The Vision Pro has 256GB of internal storage and uses micro-OLED technology for its displays. The device features Apple’s M2 chip, which we’ve seen in some Macs, and a new R1 chip designed to handle input from all of the Vision Pro’s sensors.
What accessories does the Apple Vision Pro come with?
Apple Vision Pro will come with the following accessories:
-
Double loop
-
Solo Knitted Group
-
Easy printing
-
Two Light Seal pillows
-
Apple Vision Pro Case (for front of headset)
-
Battery
-
Polishing cloth
-
USB-C charging cable
-
USB-C power adapter
You can also buy Zeiss optical inserts for the Vision Pro. Readers will be priced at $99 and prescription lenses will be available in the US for $149. It’s good to see that almost all the necessary accessories are included in the price of the Vision Pro.
When can I pre-order Apple Vision Pro?
Apple Vision Pro will be available for pre-order starting January 19, 2024 at 5am PT/8am ET. Orders will begin shipping on February 2, but if there is high demand, delivery may be delayed significantly. Pre-ordering doesn’t guarantee you’ll get the Apple Vision Pro on February 2, but if you place your order early enough in the queue, you’ll get it much closer to the official launch date. The headset will also be available at all Apple Stores in the US if you prefer to queue with other Apple loyalists.
How to pre-order Apple Vision Pro
You can pre-order Vision Pro directly from Apple . To get it as quickly as possible, we recommend making sure you’re signed into your Apple account in the Apple Store app and that all your payment information is saved in your Apple ID. Many people report having more success ordering through the Apple Store app than through the website, so this may be a good approach if your priority is getting your order in as quickly as possible.
