Kindle Scribe Is Now $70 Off
One of the biggest disadvantages of e-books is that highlighting and annotating text may not be as easy or intuitive compared to a regular book. But Amazon is aiming to address these issues head-on with Kindle Scribe , its top e-reader. Right now, you can get a 16GB Kindle Scribe for $269.99 (originally $339.99) plus three free months of Kindle Unlimited. (The 32GB and 64GB models are also discounted.) This is the lowest price I’ve seen for the Kindle Scribe outside of Black Friday, so if you’ve been thinking about buying it, now might be the time.
Great update for Kindle lovers
Kindle Scribe is expensive. It costs a little more than twice as much as the most basic Kindle , but for some people it’s worth it. If you think Kindle or Paperwhite screens are too small and you have to read in landscape mode to make font larger and more legible, then you might like Scribe’s larger screen. Reading on the 10.2-inch screen in landscape orientation is like reading a real book because you can see both pages at once.
However, this is not for everyone. Unlike the Kindle Paperwhite, Scribe is not waterproof. It also doesn’t have a page turn button like the Kindle Oasis, which I prefer over the touchscreen. If these things don’t bother you, you might like Scribe. It still has several weeks of battery life, Bluetooth capabilities, and auto-brightness and warm light features.
Do’s and Don’ts of Scribe
Kindle Scribe syncs with cloud storage, according to Amazon , making it easy to transfer notes to other devices. The backup is saved to the cloud when the device is connected to the Internet and Whispersync is enabled. For PDFs, you can write directly on the page if they are imported through the Send to Kindle page. Currently, you can’t write PDFs uploaded via USB-C or PDFs sent to your library before November 11, 2022, but you can always resend them via Send to Kindle to get them working. You can write in your books as long as they are not EPUB comics, manga, or children’s books. You can create handwritten stickers, text notes and highlights for the following file types: DOC, DOCX, TXT, RTF, HTM, HTML, PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG, BMP, EPUB. You can see the full list here .
Kindle Scribe is much cheaper than other similar e-readers, such as reMarkable 2 . It is also highly regarded as one of the best e-readers you can buy. With the current discount and three free months of Kindle Unlimited, this might be the Kindle that will help you reach your 2024 reading goals.
