Avoid Impulse Purchases by Turning Off Amazon’s 1-Click Ordering Feature
If you have problems with impulse control, it is recommended that you disable one-click purchases on your Amazon account. Amazon’s patented 1-Click technology is convenient, but it’s a bit of a trap. Avoiding the virtual shopping cart, which typically allows you to preview items before making a purchase, means many people will be buying things they may not have.
The average cart abandonment rate for online shopping is around 70% . The main reason for abandoning carts: the “extra” costs—shipping, fees, taxes—are too high. You won’t see these fees if you make a one-click purchase, so here’s how to turn off this ingenious but sneaky feature. Sober thinking is always a good idea when you’re spending money, and it takes more time than just clicking a mouse.
