Claim Your Share of Apple’s $25 Million Settlement

Have you been affected by misleading advertising? Did you think you’d be able to share an iPhone subscription with your family, only to find out you weren’t? Do you like money? Then you may be entitled to compensation.

Apple recently settled a class action lawsuit for $25 million . The case does not attack Apple for slowing down older iPhones or alleges that Apple stole medical technology ; rather, this focus is on Family Sharing, an Apple feature that allows you to share certain subscriptions and benefits with close friends and family.

The argument goes like this: Apple promoted Family Sharing as a means of splitting the cost of a subscription. However, third-party developers actually had the option to opt out of this subscription sharing feature. So someone might sign up for a platform they found on the App Store, thinking they can share it with five other people, only to find that they’re stuck paying the bill themselves.

Apple, for its part, says it did nothing wrong. However, they still agreed to multi-million dollar compensation. Considering their market capitalization currently exceeds $3 trillion , this is hardly a speeding ticket for the company.

How much money can you claim?

If you are eligible, you are eligible to receive a minimum of $30. However, the final figure depends on the total number of people filing a claim in this case. The total share per plaintiff can reach $50. As for lawyers, they will receive up to $10 million. It seems fair.

How to File a Claim in the Apple Family Sharing Claim Settlement

The right to settle a claim is actually quite open-ended . To qualify for your share, you simply need to be enrolled in a Family Sharing group with at least one other person between June 21, 2015 and January 30, 2019. Additionally, you must be a US resident at the time and have purchased a subscription to the app third party manufacturer. If you meet these requirements, you can claim your share.

If you are affected, you may be contacted directly. In this case, you will be provided with a PIN which you can use as part of your application, which you can submit online. However, you can still apply without a PIN, provided you can do so by mail. In any case, you can begin the claim process using this link .

If you file a claim, you waive the right to sue Apple in connection with that action. If you prefer to keep this option open in the future, you will not be able to receive money at this time.
