How to Create a Collaborative Playlist on Spotify
Spotify first introduced the ability to create collaborative playlists back in September 2020 , but many people still don’t know how to use it. Fortunately, this process is not difficult. With this guide, you and your friends can quickly start creating playlists together.
How to Create a Collaborative Playlist on Spotify
Whether you’re creating a playlist from scratch or want to invite friends to add to one you already have, the process for creating collaborative playlists on Spotify is actually very simple, although it doesn’t seem to be available on the website. Instead, you’ll need to open the Spotify desktop or mobile app.
Then click “Your Library” and find a playlist you want to collaborate on or create a new one. (If you want to create a completely new playlist, you’ll need to create it first and then share it with your friends.)
In the Playlists section of your library, tap or click the playlist you want to collaborate on, then look for the button with a plus sign next to it. This will invite others to collaborate on your playlist. How you share the link to this playlist will be slightly different depending on which app you’re using: If you’re using a mobile device, you’ll be able to share it directly using the sharing feature on your phone. However, if you’re using the desktop app, it will simply copy the link to your clipboard, allowing you to paste it anywhere. From there, anyone who clicks the link and adds the playlist to their own Spotify library will be able to add songs to it, allowing you to collaborate easily.
Apple also recently added the ability to create collaborative playlists in Apple Music , so now is the time to start sharing your favorite music, podcasts, and other audio with friends.
