What’s New on Netflix in December 2023

Netflix has something for everyone to watch as we hunker down for the winter holidays this month. We’ll finally get The Crown series finale, with the remaining six episodes of season six airing on December 14th. The first part began in 1997, at the end of Prince Charles and Diana’s wedding, and the second part covers the adult lives of Prince William and the prince. Harry in the early 2000s.

Also on the list for fans of historical drama is Maestro , a biopic about the life and work of conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein (played by Bradley Cooper, out December 20).

Netflix’s December comedy releases include Trevor Noah: Where Have I Been (December 19) and Ricky Gervais: Armageddon (December 25). The first is Noah’s fourth original special, which follows the comedian’s travels around the world. While not a stand-up show, there is also a documentary , Kevin Hart and Chris Rock: Headliners Only , filmed as part of the comedians’ Headliners Only Tour in July 2022.

Other December highlights include Leave the World Behind , a psychological thriller based on the 2020 novel of the same name and starring Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Kevin Bacon and Ethan Hawke (December 8); and the documentary series “Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s Team at the World Cup” (Dec. 12).
