The Easiest Way to Block Newsletters and Cookie Pop-Ups on Any Website
Even the best ad blockers cannot prevent pop-ups from appearing on websites. Whether a site has a newsletter they want you to sign up for or they have cookie settings you need to confirm, it’s hard to surf the Internet without running into obstacles over and over again. We know the only newsletter you want to read is ours , so if you’re tired of dismissing pop-ups, the solution is just a few steps away.
Block all pop-ups in your browser with the PopUpOff extension.
PopUpOff is a popular browser extension available in Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Arc, as well as the decidedly non-Chromium browser Firefox. It automatically hides newsletter and cookie pop-ups before they even appear.
PopUpOff has three different modes that you can set for each site. Hibernation does nothing and is best for sites you trust and don’t want to block. Moderate mode removes annoying news notifications but leaves everything else as is. Aggressive mode is for websites that display multiple pop-ups, such as newsletter sign-up, cookie pop-ups, or special pop-ups with information about sales and special offers.
By default, PopUpOff starts you in sleep mode. You can enable the extension for each site or enable it for all new sites. If you want to disable pop-ups only on local news sites you visit, right-click the site, select the PopUpOff extension, and use either the Moderate or Aggressive mode, depending on how bad the site is. Alternatively, open the extension, go to Settings , then under General Settings, switch to Moderate as the new default mode for all websites. This option will ensure that any new websites you open will not display large pop-ups. If necessary, you can switch to Aggressive mode for a given site using the context menu.
Block pop-ups in Safari for Mac and iPhone
If you’re an Apple user on Safari, you can use the free, lightweight, open-source Hush app to automatically block newsletter and cookie pop-ups. On a Mac, after installing the extension, open Safari, then go to Settings > Extensions to enable it. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Safari > Extensions and turn on the Hush app.
Once it’s turned on, there’s nothing else you can do. The application does not have any settings or settings. In true Apple spirit, it just works.
