You Can Now Save TikTok Songs to Spotify and Apple Music
TikTok is obviously a short video platform, but it is also a music platform. Many videos that end up on your For You page are there because a popular song is playing in the background. It’s gotten to the point where songs that become popular on TikTok end up on the radio. (Insert obvious joke about radio being dead here.)
You probably know a few songs that you’ve heard and liked on TikTok that you haven’t had the opportunity to listen to anywhere else. After all, TikTok has a way of keeping us scrolling for hours , so you tend to not pay attention to things like song titles when you’re watching hundreds of videos at once.
Fortunately, the situation is changing. TikTok now makes it easy to add a song you like to your streaming service of choice . Whether you use Spotify, Apple Music, or Amazon Music, you can save a TikTok tune you like so you can come back to it later for your listening pleasure.
How to Add TikTok Songs to Spotify, Apple Music or Amazon Music
Once the feature is fully live in your TikTok app, you’ll see a new “Add Song” button next to the song name at the bottom of the screen. If not, tap on the song to see its TikTok page, where you should see an “Add to Music App” button. Either way, press the button. The first time you do it, you’ll be asked to select your preferred streaming service. TikTok uses services installed on your phone, so if you don’t see the service you want to connect to, be sure to install its app. Once you do this, you will need to give TikTok permission to connect to the service. Follow the onscreen instructions to set this up.
By default, TikTok will save the song in a new playlist it creates for you. (On Spotify, however, it will end up in your “Liked Songs” playlists.) In my case, TikTok created “TikTok Songs” in Apple Music. However, you can click “Edit” in the pop-up window that appears after adding a song to choose an existing playlist to submit songs to or create a new one for this purpose.
