How to Record a Screen Recording on Your IPhone

Screen recording can solve a lot of problems with your iPhone. You can use it to help family members solve a problem on their device, record a long iMessage or WhatsApp conversation, or save a video you found online that can’t be downloaded directly. While Apple doesn’t explain how to view a recording on an iPhone, it’s pretty easy once you know how to set it up.

Record your iPhone screen from Control Center

The fastest way to record your iPhone’s screen is from Control Center, but you’ll have to add the feature to Control Center first. To do this, go to Settings > Control Center , scroll down, then tap the green + button next to Screen Recording . Then open Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen. Note. If your iPhone has a Home button, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open Control Center.

You can start recording your screen by tapping on the recording icon (the circle with a thick dot inside). Your iPhone will start recording your screen three seconds after you press this button. You can press the button before the countdown ends to cancel the recording before it starts. When you’re done recording, open Control Center again and tap the recording icon to stop recording.

How to view a recording with sound on iPhone

By default, screen recordings do not have audio, and you cannot record the original audio from your iPhone. However, if you want to record audio from your iPhone’s microphone while you record your screen, open Control Center, then tap and hold the recording icon. You’ll see a pop-up menu with a microphone button at the bottom of the screen. Tap the Microphone button to turn it on, then start recording your screen. You can now speak while recording (or allow the microphone to pick up the audio coming from your iPhone’s speakers) to add audio to your screen recording.

Remove notifications from screen recordings

If you enable Do Not Disturb (DND) mode before recording, alerts will not appear while you are recording your screen. However, you don’t have to manually turn Do Not Disturb on and off every time you want to avoid notifications while recording your screen. Instead , you can hide them automatically . Once you set this up, Do Not Disturb will turn on as soon as you start recording and turn off as soon as you finish.
