Latest Intel I9 Chip Has Speeds up to 6 GHz
It’s official: Intel has announced the 14th generation of its Intel Core desktop processor , introducing six unlocked “enthusiast” desktop processors into the lineup: the i9-14900K/KF, i7-14700K/KF, and i5-14600K/KF.
The flagship chip of this generation is the Intel Core i9-14900K, which Intel claims is the “world’s fastest desktop processor.” The new i9 is clocked at up to 6GHz and has up to 24 cores and 32 threads. The new i7-14700K isn’t far behind, with Intel offering this chip with 20 cores and 28 threads and four efficiency cores (E-cores). Of course, the i5 chip is also new, 14th generation, with 14 cores and 20 threads.
All six chips are compatible with Intel 600 and 700 series motherboards, so you can only upgrade your SoC if you have one. Additionally, these chips support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and Thunderbolt 5. In addition to these new chipsets, Intel is updating its Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) feature with AI: the new AI Assist feature adds AI-controlled overclocking to the i9.
