The Fastest Way to Turn IPhone Live Photos Into Videos
Live Photos have become a staple of the iPhone at this point. Not only can you relive a little of the action happening in your photo, but you can also turn live photos into boomerangs for Instagram or even loop GIFs and long-exposure shots . But there’s one more thing you can do with Live Photos that you might not know about: convert them to videos.
You may have already encountered this feature if you took a series of several Live Photos in a row. When you hold down the first of a series in the Photos app, Photos stitches them all together, effectively turning photos into videos. However, this feature goes beyond just a trick in the Photos app—you can actually export a series of Live Photos as a separate, shareable video.
How to Turn Live Photos into Videos on Your iPhone
To get started, open the Photos app on your iPhone. Tap the Albums tab, scroll down, and open the Live Photos album. Click the Select button in the top right corner and select all the photos you want to combine into a video.
Once selected, long-press on any of these photos or tap the ellipsis menu icon. You’ll see a pop-up menu from which you can select Save as Video . Your iPhone will combine and export all of these photos into a new video and save it in the Photos app.
This tip works well if you choose photos that were taken at the same time, such as multiple photos of people at a party, sporting event, or other event. While you can stitch random Live Photos into a video if they are shot in sequence, a stitched video looks cohesive.
