Outside the resort is Damajagua , a natural water park in Puerto Plata consisting of limestone waterslides and 27 waterfalls throughout the park. There is also Mount Isabel de Torres , a mountain accessible by cable car, with botanical gardens and a replica statue of Christ the Redeemer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
What’s the catch?
As already stated, you must stay at least three nights. You will need a passport valid for at least six months after the date of travel. The price does not include flights and transport. The best way to get to the resort from Gregorio Luperon International Airport (POP) is by taxi, which can cost $55 one way. Anyone you bring other than you and your guest will need to get their own Groupon pass or pay regular resort fees (as of this writing , the website currently has “superior rooms” for $92 a night in August) . If you have children, you can take them with you for a fee. The resort sets a maximum occupancy of three adults or two adults and two children aged 11 and under. Additional children under the age of three stay for free, and each additional child between the ages of four and 11 is $20 per night. Additional guests aged 12 and over are charged $82 per person per night. Wi-Fi is not included in the resort rate and is available at an additional cost that can start with 1-day access for $15 or seven days for $45 (prices subject to change). There may also be timeshare salespeople on site who reach out to you, but Groupon’s FAQ says you can opt out of their presentations without fear of losing your voucher or paying fees.
If you have questions about the VIP package, you can contact the VIP Concierge at [email protected]. If you have questions, please call the hotel at (809) 970-7777 (ext. 84000).
