This Recalled Nestlé Cookie Dough May Contain Wood Fragments
Nestlé had quite a few “ foreign materials” on their cookies, especially plastic ones. But now it seems that the tree is making its way where it should not be . Nestlé USA has announced a voluntary product recall following the discovery of wood fragments in some Nestlé Toll House chocolate chip cookie dough products. Here’s what you need to know.
Nestlé recalls cookie dough nationwide
The specific product recall is “Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Tough Break and Baking Bars” which come in 16.5 oz. packages. You can see the product image here . Two specific lots were selected as potentially containing wood fragments. However, they have been distributed to retailers throughout the United States.
The two affected batches were produced on 24 and 25 April. Two batches of recalled cookie dough bars have codes 311457531K and 311557534K with “Best Dates” of August 22, 2023 and October 23, 2023. You can find these codes and the dates on the side of the package highlighted in brown (this image shows where they can be found ).
The recall was initiated after some customers contacted Nestlé after finding wood fragments in their cookie dough bars. Nestlé states that this recall does not affect any other Toll House products and there have been no reports of illness or injury related to wood fragments in the cookie dough bars. The recall is being made as a precaution.
What to do if you have recalled Nestle cookie dough bars
Everyone who has a product in the refrigerator must ensure that their cookies do not belong to one of the recalled batches. Nestlé wants everyone who has them not to cook or eat them, but instead return them to the retailer where they bought them to get a replacement or a refund.
If you have questions about the recall, you can contact Nestlé USA at (800) 681-1678, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm ET. You can use the same number to let them know about anything you find that should n’t be in their products.
