The Easiest Way to Prevent Wet Wipes From Sticking Together
Let’s start by recognizing that just because a problem is small doesn’t mean it’s not worth solving, and I’m here to take one minor insult out of your life: when you take a wet wipe out of the package and two wipes come out from behind the fact that the first is not separated from the bottom? Driving me crazy. But that shouldn’t be a problem anymore. You just need a hair tie or scrunchie.
You can use any hair tie or elastic that is large enough to wrap front to back around the package of tissues but small enough to fit snugly around it. And that’s what you do. Here’s a photo of me pulling out a napkin – no, two napkins – without a hair tie to help myself. If you look closely, you will notice that I have a hair tie on my wrist, which is useless.
And here’s a picture of a hair tie doing its sacred job on a bag, creating a tight environment that pushes two napkins apart.
When I saw this hack floating around , it was on packages that were longer than mine, so the elastic didn’t cover the mouth of the container. So, if you have a smaller package like I do, you’ll probably have to put a rubber band over the opening whenever you need to use it. If the package is not open, just wrap it in the middle with a hair tie, further securing the clasp. (They don’t always stay closed on their own, so this is useful in the second case as well.)
When you’re done with the napkins, you may need to wrap the tape twice so it’s tight enough to separate the napkins.
