7-Eleven Will Let You Fill (Almost) Anything Slurpee for $2
Bring Your Cup Day returns this Saturday, April 29th at 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes stores nationwide. You can bring a cup (or bucket) of any size that fits under a 10-inch hole in a store display case to get as many $2 Slurpees as possible. Here are the details and some inspiring and creative variations on the word “cup”.
Go to a participating7-Eleven , Speedway , or Stripes store and fill any “cup” that will fit in the dispenser. You don’t need to be a member of any store, but 7-Eleven has placed the following rules in their press release for the deal. As long as you follow these rules, you can let your creativity fill in the gaps and get any amount of Slurpee you can handle:
- “Make sure the cup is food safe and clean” even if what you bring doesn’t fit the definition of a “cup”.
- “Make sure the cup can fit vertically into the 10″ hole in the store display case – this ensures it can also fit under the Slurpee drink dispenser.”
- “Confirm that the cup is waterproof, that is, leakproof”, mainly so that you do not make a mess in the store.
While these rules are set by the 7-Eleven Corporation, it is actually the staff on site who determines what is allowed. Some have broken the rules in the past and allowed some “cups” to be filled, which probably shouldn’t have been done.
Here are a few “cup” ideas you can easily find around the house in case you need to keep juices flowing (just be sure to clean them):
- Sand buckets
- Plant pots (without drainage holes of course)
- milk jugs
- Sled
- flower vases
If you forget your cup, you’ll have to settle for a $1 Slurpee in a regular 7-Eleven cup.
