You Can Get Refurbished Kindles for Just $20 Right Now
If you don’t mind a few scratches and small parts, you can save big on these refurbished Amazon Kindle products sold on Woot! right now . Wat! is an Amazon extension that sells refurbished, returned, and surplus items at discounted prices, and if you’re already an Amazon Prime member, you get free standard shipping. The sale will last until February 28, but some models are no longer in stock. Here’s what you can get.
Kindle Paperwhite (2015) – $20
This is the third generation of the Kindle Paperwhite line. You can buy it pre-owned on Amazon starting at $45 , so this deal is over 50% off. Personally, I still own this model and it has worked great for many years. I have since updated and passed this version on to my partner, who still uses it every day. It’s not waterproof like the newer models, but it’s smaller and the battery still lasts for weeks on a single charge.
Amazon Kindle (2016) – $28
This is an eighth generation Kindle , and it’s no longer on the market – you can find it on the secondary market for between $50 and $120, so being able to buy it for $28 is a steal and probably one of the last chances you’ll have to buy . this is from an official seller (although, of course, this is refurbished). This version has Audible built in and the battery can last up to four weeks on a single charge.
Fire Up the Oasis (2016) – $80
This is also the eighth generation, but the Oasis version . Think of it like a more luxurious e-reader model – its best feature (not unique to this model) is free cellular, so you can surf the web without the need for Wi-Fi. However, the battery life is noticeably worse than the rest – only a few hours.
Amazon Kindle (2019) with ads – $35.
This is the 10th generation Kindle Paperwhite , which you can still buy new from Amazon for $75 right now (currently 50% off). This version is waterproof and has more storage than the previous ones, with eight gigabytes (although it’s hard to fill even four gigabytes unless you plan on having audiobooks and comics). This is the “ad-supported” version, a fancy way of saying that there will be ads on the lock screen and some programs inside. Only the $35 8GB version remains. If you want a new Kindle with the latest features, this is probably the best value for your money.
Kindle Oasis (2018) – $100 to $130
This is the ninth generation Kindle Oasis . The pre-owned version on Amazon is now $145, but you can buy the 8GB version for $100 or the 32GB version for $130. All of them are ad-supported. Like the other Oasis, it also has Bluetooth and audiobook capabilities, but this one can last weeks on a single charge.
Amazon Fire Tablets
Amazon Fire tablets are outdated and not outdated in the same way that Kindle e-readers are, but you can still use them to access streaming services, surf the web, and use the same apps. The price is low, just don’t expect them to compete with the latest models.
- Amazon Fire (2017) 7th generation – $15 to $17.
- Fire HD 8 (2017) 7th generation tablet – $20 to $25.
- Amazon Fire HD 8 (2018) 8th generation tablet – $15 to $20.
- Amazon Fire HD 10 (2017) 7th generation – $25 to $40.
