These Kindles Are on Sale for up to 30% Off Right Now
Amazon’s newest Kindle e-readers are now on sale , and most of them are the cheapest since they were released last year. If you’ve been putting off updating your eBook or want to try it out for the first time, now is the perfect time to take the plunge.
There are currently five discounted Kindles. Each offers many of the same basic features, but higher-end models have new features that might be worth checking out. The two Kindles are advertised as child-friendly models, but they are actually the same as the adult version, but with children’s software installed by default, which can be uninstalled. They also offer additional features that make them more beneficial overall. Here are your options:
Brand new Kindle (with ads) – $75.
This is the most basic Kindle model, released in Fall 2022 . It normally sells for $100 but is currently 25% off, the lowest price since its release, according to Camelcamelcamel’s price history data. According to Amazon’s specs, the base model isn’t waterproof and doesn’t have “adjustable warm light.” However, you can actually get a better deal with the kids version of this model.
Brand New Kindle Kids – $85
The All New Kindle Kids is also the lowest priced Camelcamelcamel and is basically the same device as the base All New Kindle but offers more. This children’s version offers you a free case (worth about $25), ad-free operation (worth $20), 1 full year Amazon Kindle Kids+ subscription (worth $36), and a 2-year warranty (as opposed to the 1 year from the non-child version). ). All that cost is only $10 more than the “adult” version.
The main difference is that the kids mode feature is enabled by default. However, you can easily disable it in the settings. Cases for this child model are obviously meant for kids, but if you don’t mind, the case is still free (I personally think whale is cool). An Amazon Kindle Kids+ subscription will automatically charge after one year, but you can cancel it. And if you don’t like the default baby software, you can always turn it off. However, it does have some cool features that even adults will appreciate (such as the rewards feature), as explained in this video:
Kindle Paperwhite (8 GB with ads) – $105
This is a version of the Paperwhite, one level up from the base brand new model. The main differences are that it is waterproof and you can set the backlight for reading at night. You can see a comparison of Amazon’s features with other versions here . This item is 25% off and one of the lowest prices as seen in the Camelcamelcamel price history . However, you can get more for your money with the children’s version of the Paperwhite.
Kindle Paperwhite Kids (8GB) – $110
Like the basic All-new Kid version, the Paperwhite children’s version also offers a better deal. Of all the Kindles available right now, this one is also the most discounted. It’s 31% off right now, though according to Camelcamelcamel’s price history, it hit a slightly lower price of $105 during Black Friday. Unlike a regular kid’s Kindle, you can get a sleek black case with this one included in the deal (worth $30). You also get free advertising, a full-year Amazon Kindle Kids+ subscription, and a 2-year warranty, all for $5 more than the “adult” version of the Paperwhite. If you can live with the fact that you didn’t forget to remove your yearly subscription, it’s “just clear” as shown in this video .
Signature Kindle Paperwhite – $140
The Paperwhite Signature version is the top tier of the Paperwhite Kindle (excluding Kindle Oasis and Kindle Scribe ). It offers more storage with 32GB, automatic light adjustment so you don’t have to manually change it in settings, no ads, and wireless charging. It’s not the lowest price according to Camelcamelcamel’s price history (it hit $130 on Black Friday), but it’s still 26% off the regular price of $190. There is no children’s version of Signature.
