You Can Now Book an Apartment Tour on the Zillow App
Finding a place to rent can be stressful, and asking for tours (not knowing when and if it will be available to you, and if it will fit your schedule at all, if so) certainly won’t help. But a new update to the Zillow app makes it all a little easier. The new update, which is already available, gives interested renters the opportunity to book a tour at a convenient time for them. You no longer have to “book a tour” and just hope that you can view the property at a convenient time for both parties.
“Setting up apartment tours can be very stressful — you have no idea if the property manager will contact you about the listing you are interested in,” said Emily McDonald, a spokesperson for Zillow. “The ability to instantly book tour times helps renters move faster and with more confidence in today’s marketplace. It also allows apartment buyers to plan their busy schedules.”
How to book an apartment tour on Zillow
Once you have logged into your account and found the property you are interested in, look for the “Book Tour Now” button as shown in the screenshot below.
Once you click to book, a window will appear with timeslots of several days and you can choose the time that suits you. The options are in order. After booking, you will receive an automatic email and text reminder of your meeting time.
This option isn’t currently available for all properties, but McDonald says more apartments are being added in the update. If you live in Jacksonville, Florida; Orlando, Florida; Austin, Texas; In Dallas or Plano, Texas, you are more likely to find apartments with an automatic tour feature. At the time of this writing, over 2,600 hotels offer this service.
Unfortunately for buyers , this feature is not yet available for inspecting a home for sale, but Zillow says they are working on a similar update for that.
