Win a Free Steam Deck While Watching Video Games, Win Rewards
Do you like video games? Do you enjoy watching video game creators win awards? Do you like free things? Then you’ll love Valve’s new giveaway: Watch this year’s Game Awards on SteamTV for a chance to win a new 512GB Steam deck that normally sells for $649. Video game developers may win awards, but the real winners of the evening will be us.
The rules are relatively simple . In order to qualify, you must be a resident of the US, Canada, UK, or EU and make a purchase on your Steam account between November 14, 2021 and November 14, 2022. This means that if you bought the game in or around the last year from you are all good. But you also can’t just buy something on Steam right now and hope for competition: if your last purchase was after November 14th, it won’t count. Interestingly, you can participate in the draw by mail. Take a four-by-six-inch card and print your name, address, city, state, country, zip code, email address, Steam account name, phone number, and the name and date of the giveaway (“The Game Awards 2022 Giveaway”) . Send a note to: Valve Corporation, PO Box 1688, Bellevue, WA 98009-1688. If the note is stamped 8th and received 19th, you qualify, which presumably means Valve has additional Steam decks available after the Game Awards conclude.
Once logged in, all you have to do is watch the December 8th Gaming Reward on the Steam website or SteamTV by logging into the Steam account you signed up with. The broadcast will begin at 7:30 pm ET (4:30 pm PT). Valve will select one winner every minute from a pool of registered users watching the show, and since the awards are scheduled for three hours, they will likely be giving away approximately 180 units. Your chances depend on how many registered Steam accounts decide to tune in throughout the night. Let’s hope for a low turnout.
If you win, your account name will be announced during the broadcast, but it’s okay if you miss it. Valve will send you an email confirming your win and may request a prize delivery address if you do not already have one. Don’t miss out on this request, because if Valve doesn’t receive your address by December 16th, you’ll forfeit your prize.
Even if you don’t win, all registrants will receive an animated Steam Pal sticker. Just as good, right?
